Building for the Future

1.Improving the high-speed highway network connection and optimize the eastern highway traffic network. Building a comprehensive road network around the island and addressing road sections with facilities to be improved. Facilitating constructions in traffic infrastructure in the community life circle and creating a people-centered traffic environment. With optimized railway network around the island and strengthened forward-looking track construction, there are also projects on integrating the railway system with the MRT operation model and building the railway tracks with a three-dimensional structure. These approaches will be in place to build a metropolitan MRT road network.

2. Promoting public transportation services with electric and intelligent infrastructure and advancing the digital transformation of the transportation sector. In accordance with the government’s 2050 net zero emission blueprint, it is our objectives to promote the electrification of transport vehicles, low-carbon transport services, and the deployment of public charging stations. There will also be a pedestrian-friendly traffic environment to reduce traffic risk for road users including the elderly and motorcyclists. Active safety warning systems for large vehicles will also be developed, along with policies for strengthened digital governance.

3. Integrating the experimental fields for smart transport vehicles and expanding the application scope of smart technology in daily life traffic. With formulated industry standards for transport technology and their applications, there can be innovative applications of drones, and optimized benefits for industry alliances. It is also a goal to apply 5G technology to improve the use of big data and AI in traffic management, while integrating multiple transportation service, including smart city planning and traffic equality in rural areas.

4.Implementing the investigation of major transportation incidents and building overall transportation safety procedures. With strengthened notification and in-peson investigation mechanism of such accidents, as well as cooperation with relevant agencies/institutions and foreign transportation safety investigation agencies, there can be better traffic safety and operational efficiency for Taiwan’s railway system and continuous cooperation in technical exchanges with international manufacturers to improve the analysis and application of traffic data.

5. Promoting the sustainable development of Taiwan’s tourism and making tourism a market mainstream with complete environment and digital management of scenic spots. With strengthened platform of tourism resources optimized the products with multiple themes after the pandemic, there can be improved digital transformation among the industries and tourism services. These approaches will be able to promote Taiwan at markets both at home and abroad, heating up the domestic market accelerating the recovery of the international exchanges.

6.Constructing multiple access to airports across the country creating smart airport clusters with resilience. With the to-be-completed Terminal 3 at Taoyuan International Airport, there can be extra boarding halls on the north face as well as expanded international freedoms of the air, along with expanded aviation network services and optimized service proficiency. There will also be advanced flight safety supervision and security management, as well as opportunities for the bidding from contractors for the construction of Phase 2 free port zone, gathering value-added services in the logistics industry.

7.Building a base for the wind power industry, improving port facilities and the operating performance of ports as well as the resilience of commercial ports. There are also goals of improving the construction of smart ports and optimizing gate management, along with renovated ships sailing to and from outlying islands to boost tourism, built based on yacht safety classification. Upgraded safety policies can be implemented for bot smart aviation and the monitor of wind farm avigation.
