April 2022 marks the one-year anniversary of Taiwan International Ports Heavy-Machinery Corporation Ltd. (TIPH), a TIPC subsidiary dedicated to developing offshore wind farms in line with national wind-energy policies. TIPH is a client-focused, pragmatic company grounded firmly in professionalism, safety, and quality.

Specialist expertise and training are critical to moving the massive, domestically manufactured turbines and blades used in offshore wind farms safely and securely to ports for assembly, loading, and delivery to offshore installation sites. TIPH is earnestly working to meet its obligations within the national framework for offshore wind farm development. Moreover, beyond building an initial customer base and forging critical, total-solution tech-cooperation relationships with overseas heavy cargo loading and transportation firms, TIPH is training up a domestic team of heavy-industry specialists capable of meeting all of the company’s technical-support needs.

TIPH provides comprehensive overland handling and transportation solutions for wind-turbine nacelles, which are exceptionally large and weigh up to 400mt each. Moreover, since November of last year (2021) TIPH has successfully completed multiple deliveries of these nacelles by specialized barge to installation sites in rough sea conditions. TIPH’s reliable, integrated land and sea delivery system for heavy / oversized cargoes has effectively overcome in-port transportation bottlenecks and roadway logistics issues, and improved port work quality and transportation safety.

The state-of-the-art business and management practices that TIPH has woven into its DNA from the outset helped the company secure ISO45001, 14001, and 9000 certifications within its first six months in business. These certifications denote top-flight performance in the respective areas of occupational health and safety, environmental management, and quality management, and ensure TIPH delivers world-class services to its customers. TIPH is committed to providing exceptional, custom-tailored integrated transportation services and to localizing critical technical capabilities to create significant new added value to Taiwan’s domestic wind power industry.
