HeliArtec Establishing Zero-Carbon Building & Renewable Energy Industry Chain at Port of Taichung
Port of Taichung, TIPC has actively recruited businesses to invest and build facilities within the port as part of efforts to optimize port land utilization. The port most recently penned an investment and business lease with HeliArtec Solutions Corporation, Ltd. covering a 0.7-hectare parcel in the Port Industries Development Zone (Phase 1), which took effect on January 26th of this year (2023). HeliArtec’s new investment firmly anchors Port of Taichung as a key link in the zero-carbon building / renewable energy industry value chain.

HeliArtec specializes in the manufacture of aesthetic energy panels, a building-integrated photovoltaics (BiPV) technology solution at the cutting edge of building-based solar power generation. When incorporated into a building’s exterior design, HeliArtec’s coated glass panel products both add aesthetic impact and generate green, clean solar power. All products meet European building and solar energy certification standards for safety, solar protection, thermal insulation, and noise reduction, and are designed to improve quality of life within buildings. Benefitting from Taiwan’s strong high-tech design, manufacturing, and service capabilities, HeliArtec designs and produces world-leading products that allow architects and builders to envision and realize aesthetically designed zero-carbon buildings. In addition to catching strong attention from Taiwan’s National Development Fund, HeliArtec earned Red Dot’s “Best of the Best” award in 2020 and now sells internationally under the Pixasolar brand name.

HeliArtect has announced plans to invest an initial NT$170 million to construct a new color BiPV panel production facility at Port of Taichung, where its strong suite of proprietary technologies will help the company further extend and deepen its already strong roots in Taiwan. After its expected completion in early 2024, the facility will have a regular annual production capacity of 97,000m2. In addition to adding around 120 new jobs to the area, HeliArtect plans to take advantage of its location within the port’s free trade zone (FTZ) by selling and shipping directly to distributors and customers in Europe, North America, Japan, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
