TIPC Chairman Lee remarked that with the gradual return to normal in the wake of the pandemic and the continued lifting of pandemic-related restrictions at home and abroad, TIPC’s continued efforts to expand and improve port infrastructures and integrate smart-port innovation into operations are beginning to bear fruit. Furthermore, TIPC is actively working to build sustainability into every aspect of its port business with the goal of maintaining a high-quality, sustainable environment that benefits all stakeholders. The company most recently earned two Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSAs), including a Platinum (transportation sector category) and Circular Economy Leadership Award (non-manufacturing category).
The design of this year’s Golden Vessel Award incorporates a glass sail and image of a burnished silver vessel cutting through oncoming sea waves, symbolizing the recipient’s success in overcoming challenges and commitment to clean, sustainable operations. This year, 38 companies received awards in seven categories, including container wharf operations, cargo wharf operations, stevedoring, shipping agency services, port sustainability, port infrastructure investment, and outstanding contribution.
Awards ceremony attendees were treated to the premier screening of the short video “Taiwan’s Ports – Always Connected to the World” highlighting how TIPC and its business partners successfully overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and played a key role not only in safeguarding the national welfare but also in keeping business strong at Taiwan’s international commercial ports. Looking ahead, TIPC will continue to work closely with its business partners and clients to meet future challenges, strengthen TIPC port group competitiveness, and build a foundation for long-term, sustainable success.
